| Welcome to Sea Duck Taxidermy in “sunny” Kodiak, Alaska. It’s our mission to bring your trophy back to life and provide you with a mount that can be proudly displayed for years to come. Dan is an avid outdoorsman with a passion for waterfowl and game birds of all types. He was professionally trained in the art of bird taxidermy and habitat construction at Pro Mount School of Taxidermy. Additionally, Dan received professional instruction from local taxidermist Eric Wietfeld, of Kodiak Taxidermy. | |||

I truly believe all birds are trophies and I will go the extra mile to provide you with a high quality mount that you will be able to enjoy for a lifetime. When I receive your bird, it will be immediately tagged with your information. Tags will remain attached throughout the entire mounting process and will not be removed until it is in your possession. No substitutions will be made without your approval. I will inspect your birds when you bring them in (if not frozen) so we can discuss quality, any defects and poses. If your bird is already frozen, that’s fine. I will inspect your bird when I start the skinning process and I will contact you if there are any defects that would prevent a quality mount. | ||
| All birds are carefully skinned, fleshed, degreased, washed multiple times, and all skins will be preserved. I understand that no two birds are exactly the same. With this in mind, I pre-measure each bird and create a detailed template, ensuring an accurate and lifelike finished mount. I use a combination of taxidermy products and methods that are best suited to your specimen, including hand wrapped bodies. If you have any questions please ask, after all, it’s your trophy. | ![]() |
